Part Assembler

This is a Full-time position in Kingston, WA posted August 7, 2021.

DEPARTMENT: HDPE

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

FSLA STATUS: Non-Exempt / Full Time

Position Summary

Working in a team setting to fabricate and assemble a variety of customized marine flotation structures that meet customer specifications.

Essential Duties

• Various fabrication tasks using a variety of materials including high density polyethylene pipe & sheets (HDPE), steel, wood, hardware, vinyl & rubber and other materials

• Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings and pic ticket orders to determine materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work.

• Fabricates and assembles product per directions, drawings and customer specifications

• Follows quality control procedures to ensure fabricated product meets required standards

• Locates and pulls required materials from inventory, maintains accurate records of materials used

• Assists with organizing materials and tools and preparing tools and materials for upcoming projects

• Bundling and packaging/re-packaging materials for storage or shipping

• Loading and unloading materials as products are shipped out or received

• Maintains clean work area and equipment; follows safety procedures concerning use of equipment and materials to maintain safe working conditions.

• Operates fusion and extrusion welding equipment, polymer spray coating machinery, power tools, forklifts and other equipment per safety regulations and manufacturer instructions.

• Utilizes a variety of hand tools, saws and cutting equipment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· Working knowledge of power tools used in fabrication, cutting, and measuring

· Working knowledge of basic carpentry and hand tools

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

· Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operation, maintenance and procedures manuals

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings for fabrication

· Ability to understand/perform basic math functions of plane geometry, fractions, percentages and ratios

· Ability to interpret technical instructions in written mathematical and diagram form

· Position requires forklift certification and on-the-job training/certification in fusion and/or extrusion welding

Off-site travel may be required for installation of PNP manufactured equipment.

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

· High School diploma or GED preferred

· Prior fabrication experience and fusion qualification a plus

· Experience in construction, welding, fusing preferred

· Available: Willing to work extended hours and overtime as needed to complete the work

While performing this job the individual is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes/airborne particles; and occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions; extremes of cold/heat, humid conditions or work in high precarious places.

The work environment exposes individual to loud noises from moving equipment and machines.
