Machine Operator

Machine Operator II is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Ensures final product meets customer expectations. Works under immediate supervision; relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. * Mill Operators are responsible for the setup and operation of welded tube mill * Gauge Coils to ensure accuracy based on acceptable tolerances * Set-Up tooling based on tooling charts * Make adjustments to tooling and weld box to maintain quality of tubing * Perform detailed (final gauge, hand held gauges, etc.) dimensional inspections when necessary to determine quality of product * Self-inspect parts visually for obvious defects or specified by work instructions (ID / OD scarfing) * Validate tube length to ensure accuracy using daily schedule and as specified by work instructions * Perform routine maintenance and rebuild / upkeep on tools and equipment as required and / or necessary * Technical aptitude * Ability to operate butt welding machines and hand held torch * Use and read precision measuring equipment (i.e micrometers, Vernier calipers, tape measure and feeler gauges) * Ability to install the proper bearing spacers, work coil, cutting head, di-dedimpler and impeder rod required during changeovers * Must understand ID, OD and Wall Thickness of coil being processed * Responsible for quality, production, scrap, safety and routine maintenance * Loads and unloads assigned machines; prepares raw materials, follows loading procedures, and removed parts from the machine Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
