Security Systems include innovative technologies for intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, TSCM and other electronic security related equipment. The position requires the ability to interact and communicate effectively with facilities, maintenance, engineering, protective force, program management, and the integrated supply chain organizations. Conducts security reviews and risk assessments that are used as the basis for cost-effective, compliant security systems. Reviews, interprets, and applies extensive, detailed and highly technical guidance received from the DOE, National Security Agency, Department of Defense, and other government agencies regarding security systems and threats. Researches, designs, and implements complete and compliant Security Systems for secure facilities meeting the program requirements of the Department of Energy (DOE).This position is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.Duties and Responsibilities: Performs Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) surveysPerforms Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) equipment inspectionsPerform in-conference monitoringAdvise and assist personnel on matters of technical security policy, procedures, and regulationsComplete written reports and security briefingsOperate and maintain In Place Monitoring System (IPMS)Research and evaluate facility construction, physical security measures, intrusion detection systems, and provide protective and preventive technical advice and assistance for the protection of classified informationDrive continuous improvement of security systems through monitoring and evaluating new, innovative technology solutions to security systemsConduct analysis and recommend solutions to a variety of complex technical surveillance and counter-surveillance detection or other technical vulnerabilitiesYou Must Have: Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Security or comparable technical activities, including application of engineering principles and technology to complex technical assignmentsMinimum 1 year of experience as a U.S. Government TSCM technicianBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences with a minimum of 30 semester hours of electronic related courses, or Associate’s degree in electronics field with 2 additional years of equivalent work experienceCompletion of an electronics program from an accredited vocational school with 2 additional years of equivalent work experienceCompletion of military technical electronics school with 2 additional years of equivalent work experienceGraduation from Federal TSCM Fundamentals Course (ITC) with 2 additional years of equivalent work experience and successful completion of continuing education to maintain certificationUS citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy ” Q” level security clearanceWe Value: Advanced project management skills and ability to lead medium to large projectsExperience with alarm systems, access control, and CCTV system design and managementAdvanced knowledge of electronic test and measurement equipmentAdvanced knowledge of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, server administration, and networking administration skillsExperience in telecommunications both analog and digitalExperience in RF measurements and design.Advanced knowledge of, and experience based familiarity with, information security practices required to establish and maintain system integrity for safeguarding classified information in a secure environmentAdvanced knowledge of the range of DOE Orders and Manuals that define security program requirementsSelf-motivated individual with ability to work with minimal providing independent action and decision-making skillsAbility to perform or oversee research, selection, modification, design, maintenance, and/or the development of Technical Security equipment and systems.Ability to identify appropriate level of team interactions necessary to resolve an issue and actively participate in collaboration and/or meetings.Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
