HON and Allsteel, industry leaders in office furniture design and manufacturing, is in search of a Forklift Operator to join our HNI Furniture Operations team in Muscatine, IA!
Sign-On Bonus: As part of your offer package, all eligible new hires and rehires (effective 5-10-21) will be eligible to receive up to a $2,000 Sign on Bonus (less applicable taxes).
How does the payout work?
Payment will be paid out in 4-week increments from your start date of and your first payout will generally be reflected/paid out during your 6th week of employment.
Each eligible week will be paid out as $100 per week.
Total payout will not exceed $2,000.
If you accept a 2nd shift job, each eligible week will be paid out at $150 per week.
Total payout will not exceed $3,000.
If you choose to voluntarily terminate your position within one year of initial employment, you agree to reimburse the Company of all Sign on Bonus monies.
Pay: starting at $17.00 per hour based on prior manufacturing experience.
Our 2nd, 3rd, or weekend shift opportunities receive an additional hourly shift differential.
We pay our Members weekly!
Current needs across multiple shifts including day shifts!
JOB DETAILS
In a Forklift Operator role, you will perform a variety of activities, including receiving, storing, staging, reallocating and loading of finished products, primarily using a lift truck.
You will be required to exercise judgment in accepting or rejecting finished goods according to quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowing all locations of finished product.
Ensuring that all replacements parts are packed and shipped expediently.
Loading transport vehicles to obtain optimum spatial utilization while ensuring damage free product, at a proper cost.
Verifying all product to ensure in correct shipment.
Working with and maintaining various materials and finished stock inventory records using RF scanners and computer screens.
Investigating missing units and adjusting RF accordingly.
Performing periodic inventory audits and reporting any material shortages.
Checking and maintaining material handling maintenance logs, evaluating the safety of material handling equipment, and participating in required safety training to acquire and maintain material handling certification.
Performing quality checks according to standard work.
Performing TPM procedures as required on specified equipment.
Maintaining a clean work area and following 6S guidelines.
Following standard work for all jobs performed; suggesting and documenting improvements to standard work.
Operating a computer and printer to print tags.
Prioritizing multiple tasks to support and maintain shipping/receiving flow.
Will work under minimal supervision and at times minimal direction.
Member may be required to train others in Level 2 per the Member Training Program Member will be expected to maintain flexibility and will occasionally perform other roles in Level 2.
Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization
Work Environment/ Physical Conditions:
Dust, fumes and noise are commonplace Seasonal fluctuations in temperatures and humidity are expected Stand and/or work for up to 10-hours per day Lift and carry up to 40lbs on a continuous basis
WHAT IT TAKES

Experience Needed:
Previous manufacturing, distribution or lift truck experience is preferred Consistent work history and dependability Proven history of strong work performance
Travel Requirements:
May be required to travel to and from various distribution centers (within Muscatine) as needed.
Education and/or Required Training:
No prior education or training is required.
However, must be able to add, subtract, multiply and/or divide decimals and fractions using a calculator.
