Forklift Operator- Chili

JOB SUMMARY:The Chili Fork Lift Operator position encompasses all aspects of running the stretch wrapper in the Order Preparation / Warehouse areas and providing product and supplies to each repacking line, making sure lines do not go down. This includes the operating and the daily maintenance of the Stretch wrapper and the safe forklift driving requirements of moving all finished product onto the wrapper and then to the proper warehouse location.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:* Ensure that all products are produced safe and legal through positive environment of continuous improvement and innovation* Follows all Sensient policies and procedures* Maintains the facility at all times as set by the 5S program.* When warehousing finished product, ensure that pallet tags are secured on upper left hand corner of pallet and initialed to identify the movement into the row, proper pallets are used, pallets of bags have a label on all four sides and that all packaging containers are free from any damage. Also, combine partial pallets as needed to save on warehousing space.* Load and unload all finished product to and from the stretch wrapper in a safe efficient fashion. Ensure that each pallet is securely wrapped in a manner that will eliminate any problems in the warehousing and shipping of product.* Keep Lines full in regards to product and supplies.* Ability to read and understand Product Names, Codes and Tags* Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions, problems and questions* Willing to work in extreme temperatures, ranging from 35° F to over 100° F* Must have ability to read and write English* Performs pre-op inspection of forklift on a daily basis, and whenever driving a different forklift.* Performs Reclassifications and Work Order Completions to account for all products used and produced.* Maintains forms, logs and paperwork associated with the work area.* Maintains work area in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Gives direction to helpers in maintaining GMP guidelines and production targets.* Performs any other tasks required or assigned by the supervisor or member of management.SKILLS & ABILITIES:Environmental Conditions:Work performed will be in all areas of the Turlock Facility. Requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. at a time. Safely roll drums up to 315 lbs. These areas frequently subject employee to extreme temperatures ranging from 35 to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noises, airborne food particles (dust), and forklift fumes.Safety Considerations:Includes operating a forklift in a safe manor, working safely around heavy forklift traffic, lifting properly when asked to do repetitive lifting/stacking, wearing applicable Personal Protective Equipment, and following all Safety Regulations.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Education:High School Graduate Preferred.Experience:Knowledge of Order Processing, Fork Lift Operator, HACCP, GMP Practices, Plant Safety, Chili Production and Repack Production.ABOUT SENSIENT NATURAL INGREDIENTS:The Sensient Natural Ingredients group is part of Sensient Flavors & Fragrances Group and is one of the largest producers and distributors of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery and spinach.
