Forklift Operator

Description:
Production

65% Operates industrial truck/forklift to assist in loading trucks, unloading finished product from trucks, or moving materials and products in the warehouse, in a timely manner. Uses computer software to locate materials in the warehouse for loading purposes.

10% Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

5% Completes various paperwork as required.

5% Relabels product or puts cornerboards on pallets if needed.

5% Combines/splits pallets to satisfy customer needs or wants.

5% Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.

5% Other tasks by supervisor as needed.

MUST HAVE FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety – Follow Written and Verbal Procedures, have knowledge of equipment and safe operation. Provide excellent housekeeping and demonstrate knowledge of Safety Policies

Quality – Must follow Good Hygiene Practices and Standard Operation Procedures. Follow and complete Master Sanitation Schedule

Efficiency – Complete and communicate daily activities, assist with overall plant sanitation, stock supplies as needed, and assist operators when needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must be able to work nights, overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts Must be willing to be on call Must have strong written and verbal communication skills Must be able to read, write and understand paperwork/documentation used Must work well with others Must have very good time management skills Must be able to prioritize tasks Must be detail oriented and have a high attention to details Must have good follow-up skills Must be a safety minded individual Must be able to lift 50+ pounds Be able to sit, stand, climb stairs for extended periods of time Have visual and auditory clarity Any other activity as determined by the supervisor.
