As a quality contractor, we hire the best people and provide opportunities for professional growth.Position: Carpenter / Full timeCompensation: Depending on ExperienceJob DescriptionFive Star Restoration & Construction Fairfieldis looking for Carpenters:* Cut, shape and assemble wood, composition and/or plastic sections with shop tools and equipment such as planners, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders and various power saws* Prepare structures for finish applications by planning, shaping and sanding, using hand and power tools* Read and interpret plans, sketches and shop drawings* Determine type and dimensions of wood stock to be used* Rebuild cabinet boxes and reinstall* Install new cabinets* All trim work, base, casing, crown, doors, etc.* Minor framing* Tile experience including tile prep, setting and grouting* Ability to paint surfaces including walls, floors, doors and cabinets* Mix match and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel and other finishes* Calculate amounts of required materials* Fill holes, cracks and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fillers, using caulking gun or putty knives* Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps and electric switch covers prior to painting* Knowledge on protecting, covering, masking and working in occupied homes* Apply drywall to walls or ceilings including, measure, cut, fasten ,taping and finishing joints* Read blueprints and designsSkills and Experience Requirements:* 2-3 years of verifiable experience* Ability to work both alone and as a team* All applicants must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States* All applicants must have good DMV and be able to pass insurance company’sbackground check* Excellent communication and technical skills* Ability in problem-solving* Strong sense of urgencyAbout Five Star Restoration & Construction:Five Star Restoration & Construction has built a strong reputation as a disaster response provider.
