Felix Construction Company: Water / Wastewater Estimator

Felix Construction Company has an immediate need for a Water / Wastewater Estimator at our office in Dallas, Texas.Estimator : The Estimator will assist the Felix Team in all aspects of the bid / estimating process from review of plans and specs to soliciting and negotiating prices from subcontractors / suppliers through completion of bid / estimating effort including closeout.

Will perform quantity take-off, pricing, scoping and bidding of water / wastewater projects.Responsibilities: Communicates with engineers, owners, and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications.Completes bid scopes for projectsCan estimate the project, including structural concrete, piping systems, mechanical equipment installation, site civil, etc.Performs quantity take-offs for water and wastewater piping systems and mechanical equipment for industrial piping and mechanical systems.Performs quantity takeoffs for structural concrete and site civil workActively participates in the internal estimate review process.Prepare final assembly of estimate.After the bid, collects and organizes all bid information for project turnover meetings.

Assists field operations with change order pricing.Aids in maintaining historical data.Subcontractor/Vendor Analysis for BidsPrepares, coordinates, and evaluates subcontractor bid packages.Prepares contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts.Industry Knowledge / RelationshipsBuilds relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain a competitive advantage.Attends industry events and represents the client to the industry in a professional capacity.Builds and maintains relationships with clients.Local to the DFW areaQualifications: * Experience in DFW is required.*5+ years of equivalent experience required.Preferred but not required Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Structural EngineeringA good understanding of the labor markets, owners, and subcontractors.Experience in water / wastewater construction.

General knowledge of construction principles and processes.Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
