Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs equipment set-up and/or troubleshoots draw towers. Must be able to troubleshoot on the fly. Operates draw towers (multiple machine controls) to heights of up to 30 feet. While working at heights will manipulate materials around lift and towers. Adheres to well-defined fab drawings and creates work orders. Assembles single and multi-channel billets, blocks. Requires extreme patience, meticulous attention to detail and manual dexterity. Makes standard on-going process adjustments. Reiterate troubleshooting on an ongoing basis. Conducts in-process inspections on materials. Operates and takes ownership of fusion process. Tracks and maintains inventory to meet customer demand. Plans and schedules work flow. Maintains work areas and equipment as clean, stocked, operational and in safe condition. Good housekeeping habits are needed. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to troubleshoot and in rare cases makes decisions in the absence of specific policies and procedures, and/or guidance from the supervisor. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required, including word processing, spread sheets, MRP and database software applications; ability to follow computer generated work orders. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and sometimes works in high, precarious places.
