The Right-Hand Person Support the Director of Operations with day-to-day projects and assignmentsAssist with the implementation of corporate and local initiativesHelp the Director of Operations in performing onsite quality control by walking community grounds and vacant unitsProvide suggestions for improving overall efficiencies and processes The Renovator Oversee the renovation process for acquisitions in your portfolio while also managing your lease-upsTrain community teams on the lease-up process, ensure they comply with company standards, and act as their advisor throughout the upgrading processMonitor project progress to make sure renovations are on track with timelines and up to the Director of Operations’ high-quality standardsHave a sense of ownership for the success of new developments and acquisitions in the region The Problem Solver Think quickly on your feet to resolve any problems that come up on the flyCommunicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities to resolve issues and foster a greater sense of teamworkAct as an advisor with change management processAssist with operational efficiencies and help monitor progress The Impact You Can Make The Director of Operations is able to maximize community performance, thanks to all your help implementing improvement programs and support in achieving operational goals.You energize your dedicated teams, and they feel empowered to make smart decisions under your guidance.Your residents love their homes and know they can depend on their Community team to anticipate their needs and provide a living experience they couldn’t get anywhere else – even with renovations going onSuperior record of 5 years in property management and 3 years as Community Manager; lease and renovation experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferredAbility to recognize problems and take action to improve a teamDemonstrated success working with a diverse workforceExcellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with solid customer serviceExceptional interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skillsStrong financial management skills; well-versed in budgeting and forecastingCAM and ARM designation; proficient in MicrosoftOffice and industry softwareAt Cortland, we create, reimagine, and manage apartment communities for residents nationwide.
