Conrad Construction is a general contractor in Portland, Oregon. We work on a variety of projects surrounding residential remodels. We focus on customer service while delivering high quality artisanship. The owner is a career carpenter with over 20 years of hands on experience along with a deep knowledge of building practices. At this time we are hiring for superintendent, carpenters and apprentice level carpenters to join our team. Responsibilities will vary by desired positionResponsibilities Dependent On Position• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed• Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. tile) according to measurements• Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items• Install flashings and weather barriers to company standards• Lay out framing, trim work or other materials ensuring they are leveled and compatible• Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance• Provide basic tools for daily tasks• Properly use and care for company provided tools• Have and maintain a clean driving record• Have reliable transportation for travel to and from work and during workSkills may include the following but will vary by position• Proven experience as carpenter• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)• Ability to read technical documents and drawings• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times• Good knowledge of English• Good understanding of basic math• Good physical condition and endurance• High school diploma, or trade school required• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others• Have an ability to learn and act on new conceptsRelated keywords: construction, construction laborer, laborerJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 – $30.00 per hourBenefits:• Dental insurance• Employee discount• Health insurance• Paid time offSchedule:• 8 hour shift• Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:• Bonus pay• Signing bonusCOVID-19 considerations:Masks and social distancing practices are required to protect fellow staff, customers and the general publicEducation:• High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:• Construction Experience: 3 years (Preferred)License/Certification:• Driver’s License (Required)Work Location:• Multiple locationsWork Remotely:• No
