Come join us and help shape the future!WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for our Nashville, Tennessee office.**Duties and Responsibilities:**+ Inspects and monitors assigned field work activities on construction projects for conformance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents+ Coordinates work and inspections with contractor’s representative, client personnel and other stakeholders.+ Advises contractor of non-conforming work or other violations of the contract requirements.
Works with the contractor to identify and implement appropriate corrective action.+ Verifies that highways work zones and traffic control setups conform to contract requirements+ Prepares and reviews daily inspector reports for preparation of entries into project diaries and is able to properly document materials and test reports for materials.+ Assists in contractor’s evaluations.+ Performs other duties as assigned.Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges.
If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.># Job Requirements>**Minimum Qualifications:**+ High School Diploma+ Must possess a Valid Driver’s license+ 5 or more years of experience with construction inspection, preferably including inspection of roadway and bridge projects.+ Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure and bridge plans and specifications; apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine minor adjustments to construction plans; maintain detailed records; perform required materials testing and communicate effectively with the agency and contractor personnel and the general public.+ Working knowledge of the TDOT and Federal environmental, safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines and regulations+ Willingness to work Overtime or for limited night time construction as needed and overnight travel+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies+ Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening**Preferred Qualifications**+ CEI experience on TDOT projects+ Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control certification (TDEC EPSC Level I)+ Experience with Site Manager Software+ OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Gauge / Hazmat Training, TDOT Concrete Field Testing, TDOT Soils & Aggregate, and TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Roadway Certifications**About WSP USA**WSP USA is the U.S.
