POSITION SUMMARY:The Permitting Agent reports to the Permitting Manager and is responsible for directing, planning and managing permitting for project(s) to be completed ahead of schedule, within budget and in compliance with Company safety and procedural policies.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:•Develop permitting documents and tracking reports•Identify and coordinate the submittals of all documents •Review permitting documents and prepare a check list to ensure all work items are accounted for•Attend pre-construction and job meetings •Review construction documents to ensure compliance with Owner’s contract•Initiate, review and obtain Owner’s approval on permit /interconnection applications •Contribute to the resolution of permitting disputes with the Owner•Establish schedule with Permitting Manager to include construction documents, permits, submittals and check request and approvals•Review designs for completeness and compliance with permit application documents•Establish delivery dates for all permits/applications in accordance with the schedule•Work with project teams and outside partners to resolve zoning/feasibility studies conflicts and easement violations•Interface with project team to maintain an open line of communication and reporting, monitor job progress, schedules and coordinate with all municipalities with the scheduling of the final inspections •Other duties as requested by Permitting Manager•Visit jobsites as neededQualificationsEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:•Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in a business-related fieldKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:•Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles•Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)•Familiarity working within Share Point and/or Procore•Strong organizational skills, initiative and meticulous attention to details•Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills•Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations•Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work well within a team•Ability to handle confidential information and communications in a secure and professional manner•Ability to deal with multiple assignments, to prioritize, and to progress assignments without constant oversight
