Construction Coordinator

Project Resources Group, Inc

This is a Full-time position in Oakland, NJ posted January 11, 2022.

Project Resources Group (PRG) is a rapidly growing company with Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, and operations in 40 states around the United States. We are committed to helping our customers in the telecommunication and utility industries manage their outside plant needs. Over the last 20 years, we have built our expertise and have become a subject matter expert (SME) on all things outside plant engineering.

We are looking for an experienced Construction Coordinator with a solid fiber construction background (cable/telephone company) and outside plant experience to manage a flagship fiber to the home buildout with a focus on MDUs. In addition to field oversight of construction progress and quality control, you will be coordinating with building management and client management on a daily basis. You must be proactive and have solid, positive communication skills.

On a typical day on the job, you’ll be asked to perform the following functions:

  • Oversee, track, and report on the progress and quality of work being performed by construction contractors.
  • Consult with client to determine and control the workflow of construction
  • Keeps clients and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
  • Attend contractor meetings and calls as necessary.
  • Implement new processes and procedures as set forth by the construction department.

Qualified candidates should also meet the following requirements:

  • 3+ years in cable or other telecommunications construction
  • Experience with aerial and underground projects is important
  • MDU experience is a major plus
  • Experience managing contractors and coordinating multi-site construction projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a positive attitude
  • The candidate must be well-organized, proactive, resourceful, flexible, able to communicate with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and perform with a high level of professionalism
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office programs.
  • Candidate must have own vehicle in acceptable condition (to be determined by hiring manager) & a valid driver’s license – mileage reimbursement will be paid at the standard Federal rate.
  • Overtime will be required at times based on the volume of work.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather
  • While performing duties, the employee is required to walk extensively, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day.
