Amerlux, a pioneer in the lighting industry for over 35 years, is seeking CNC Machine Operators to join our team in Oakland, NJ.
As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be part of a fast-paced, growing global lighting company.
The CNC Programmer will be responsible for enhancing material utilization and support company production goals through the daily implementation and continuous improvement of CNC machine programs.
This position must be able to interpret engineering blueprints to draw (program) flat pattern layouts of parts to manufacture parts in the most cost effective manner, utilizing AutoCAD software to continuously improve run time and programming time.
If there are any issues with the program they need to be communicated with the Fabrication Manager and resolved.
Job Responsibilities Include: Provide daily programs for CNC production equipment (turret punch presses, press brakes, etc).
Load CNC programs into the computer and select raw material options to be used.
Analyze material utilization and make improvements to the CNC programming to achieve desired improvements.
Use Oracle to review and adjust for changes in parts requirements.
Make recommendations on raw material inventory levels based on the production schedule and anticipated material utilization.
Adjust existing programs to accommodate product redesigns or production changes.
Confirm that fabricated parts meet the engineering drawings, using drawings and measuring equipment as needed.
Accurately inventory and report completed parts and work orders in Oracle.
Observe and follow all safety requirements as specified by the Company and OSHA.
Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management and the Company.
Qualifications an Experience: Associates or Technical degree preferred.
3 years of experience in Turret Punch Press programing utilizing AutoCAD and/or Inventor in a metal fabrication facility.
Must be able to read detailed Engineering drawings and possess mechanical aptitude Strong mathematical acumen.
Knowledge of raw materials used in sheet metal fabrication, production processes, turret punch press tooling, calipers, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of goods.
Experience and ability to work in a fast paced & customer service oriented environment.
Environmental/Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be asked to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Physical requirements to lift/move items up to 65 lbs.
