to join our family.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s directionSets up budgetsPrepares estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work; prices work itemsReviews design options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materialsParticipates in presentations to clients (if required)Reviews all pricing with the Chief EstimatorUses historical unit price and productivity dataParticipates in project hand-off meetings; attends meetings with supplies and subs as neededVisits project sites to observe construction methodsReviews proposal specifications, drawings and attends pre-bid meetings, etc.
to determine scope of work and required contents of estimateReviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.
into unit and man hour fguresDetermines critical path schedule and sequence of workInvestigates site before bid, identifying waste area, borrow area and dump sitesUpdates skills for software tools and technology utilizedReviews terms and conditions of subcontractor and vendor quotes; serves as liaison with subcontractors and vendors during the bidding processProvides technical support to personnel preparing estimates for assigned bidsMust be willing to travelInvestigates value engineering optionsMaintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliersEnsures all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figuresCommunicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.G.
customers, suppliers, employees).
Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and valuesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University and 0-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
