Summary and Qualifications:Work with Construction Managers to ensure new standalone hospitals are built to Banfield’s design and development standards, allowing hospitals to open in a timely and appropriate manner.Ensure a high level of understanding of our hospitals’ design and layout, and Banfield’s supply chain and service needs.Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.Research and report on zoning and permitting costs and timelines of municipalities in prospective locations.Represent Banfield during Building Department visits, Conditional Use Hearings, and other necessary offsite visits to ensure requirements to open new hospitals are met.Organize the design and installation of exterior signage, facilitating communication between the sign company, new site landlords, and the real estate team, as well as obtaining needed approvals from internal stakeholders.Communicate effectively to all stakeholders (hospitals, CTS associates, etc.) to ensure all parties are informed of upcoming projects and scope of work.Coordinate utility hook-up and fee assessments and set-up service for new hospitals.Request, process and track all purchase orders through project completion.Redline construction drawings (using predefined requirements) and communicate with architects.Ensure completion of all the items on the construction project checklist (“punch list”).Perform 1-year warranty walk-throughs of new hospitals.In partnership with the Construction and Design Managers, this role will be the materials and procurement liaison for all materials manufacturers and vendors and is responsible for documenting all prototypical elements of our hospitals and any changes to specifications.Coordinate materials, code infringements, and procurement challenges with subcontractors through the submittal process.Work with our Construction and Design Managers and will assist in the oversight of the formal project and vendor bidding process.Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage internal and external resources throughout projects; mentoring/coaching associates and vendor partners, as necessary.Other job duties as assigned.Special Working Conditions:Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.Environment where pets are present.Experience, Education and/or Training:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Three years of relevant construction or construction project coordination experience are required.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse group of individuals (CTS associates, vendors, contractors etc.) is required.Knowledge of general commercial construction, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural systems; experience working withflooring, cabinetry, paint and lighting is preferred.Previous construction project supervisory experience managing complex projects is preferred.WE ARE A DRUG-FREE, SMOKE-FREE, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.Banfield Pet Hospital® strongly supports and values the uniqueness of all individuals and promotes a work environment where diversity is embraced.
