Job Description
- Follow instructions contained in the work order and examine final product to confirm completion, according to specification.
- Cut and strip wire and cable to the blueprint requirement.
- Autosplices and/or solders reed switches, electronic components and connectors to wire harnesses.
- Pressure or HMS tests stems, housings and floats per blueprint and or work order.
- Trims and/or files excess material from components as required.
- Clean stems and components using cleaning solutions, air hoses and cloths.
- Ultrasonically welds or heat stakes plastic floats.
- Magnetizes float or magnet assemblies.
- Adjusts and installs assembled harnesses in the stem and/or housing.
- Installs PCB in stems and /or housings.
- Sets mechanical switches and floats in accordance with blueprint specifications.
- Mixes potting compound.
- Encapsulates the harness and/or PCB in the stem or housing using various types of potting compounds.
- Loads units into ovens to cure potting compound.
- Installs grip rings, collars, floats, housings and other types of hardware on sensors as specified on the blueprint or work instructions.
- Torques fasteners to the blueprint specified values.
- Installs shuttles in flow switches and flow tests.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished components, subassemblies, and products.
- Hypot tests sensors.
- Installs the appropriate labels on the completed sensors
Required Education and Experience
Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.
Minimum one-year previous manufacturing assembly experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts. Work is typically performed at a variety of locations within the department (which includes walking or standing some of the time). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include but are not limited to: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. When required, must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs and up to 50 lbs.
This position requires the use of a respirator hood while the blast booth is in operation. Respirator fit testing is necessary.
