1st Shift Machine Operator M Th

This is a Full-time position in Schoolcraft, MI posted September 28, 2021.

Adecco is looking for enthusiastic individuals for work in Schoolcraft, MI. This metal stamping company makes products used every day! We have positions for machine operator on DAY SHIFT. These are temp-to-hire positions starting at $15 per hour. 
 
 
The machine operator tends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, brakes, presses, forming machines and machines that punch, cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and coils with a goal of zero defects by performing the following duties. This position may require overtime to include weekends.  Regular attendance at work is a requirement for this position. 
 
 
What will you be doing as a machine operator 

  • Reads job specifications, part prints, operator instructions and SPC control charts provided in the production kit to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. 
  • Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade. 
  • Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine. 
  • Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. 
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece. 
  • Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces. 
  • Communicates with material handler, set-up personnel and Lead as necessary to insure availability of proper tools and materials to complete job.

  • Oral and written English language literate 
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent 
  • 2 years of machine operation or stamping press operation 
  • Quality control and inspection experience a huge plus 
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions received verbally, through product specifications, and blueprints
