M-F 8a-5p Title: Purchasing Support Assistant FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Purchasing Department Description Summary: Under direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, this position will provide support to the purchasing department by contacting suppliers, processing purchase orders, performing general clerical duties and tracking all materials.
The ideal candidate has a desire to learn purchasing and inventory control and work as a support person in an office setting.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following: 1.
Assist in most aspects of purchasing and inventory control 2.
Track open orders with vendors through completion 3.
Input, distribute, receive and file purchase order 4.
Assist Accounts Payable with invoicing 5.
Prepare reports 6.
Data entry 7.
Communicate with Customer Service and Shop Floor personnel to insure proper material flow 8.
Special projects related to inventory control and system clean up 9.
Half of the day’s activities will be routine, while the balance of the position is fast paced and requires problem solving skills 10.
