Evolver Legal Services is seeking Legal Clerical Support *MUST HOLD an Active Top Secret Clearance*Legal Clerical Support is required for each litigation or administrative matter, requests for discovery, and requests for discovery services processed by the OGC-LITB (“Cases”).
A comprehensive document and file management system shall be completed by a centralized clerical team.
The Legal Clerical Support Task includes but is not limited to the following:Clerical ProjectsOn a quarterly basis, the Legal Clerical completes legal clerical projects to improve the overall management of the OGC-LITB and mitigate legal risk associated with clerical functions.
The OGC-LITB shall define these projects on a rolling basis, to include with measurable deliverables, timelines and Legal Clerical Supportevaluation and acceptability criteria.
Examples of projects that shall begin at the start of the award include:
• May request changes to existing OGC-LITB practices and tracking tools, and shall fully incorporate underlying OGC-LITB requirements and best practices;
• May reorganize and consolidate all existing electronic and paper documents for each pending case into a centralized file for that case.
For closed cases, the team-based work product would be migrated to a common electronic storage location, but individual cases would not be merged to a single file.Litigation Case ManagementCoordinate intake of new cases and requests for work on existing cases, create case files and tracking records, generate indexing, organizing documentation electronically and in paper case files, and communicating case information to case teams or individuals assigned to work or coordinate on the cases.
• Transfer cases from one FBI unit to another FBI unit and update the tracking database as needed;
• Organize and process cases received from other FBI units or external agencies and update the tracking database as needed;
• Track progress on cases, including checking Pubic Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) notifications, updating case files and tracking records, monitoring work flow, and reporting progress;
• Administer and adhere to security procedures, including recording and executing permissions to case information upon receiving written approval from a government task lead;
• Respond to changes in the case team, including drafting correspondence related to the cases and the requests to FBI divisions, including field offices;
• Coordinate technical/data processing support;
• Ensure cases are closed according to existing standard operating procedures (SOP) and related documents are filed or uploaded to designated databases;
• Administer calendars and schedule meetings as requested;
• Generate management reports using data from the OGC-LITB case tracking system, including Excel and pivot tables.Document Support
• Prepare documents for imaging/scanning; and scan, copy and file documents;
• Perform law library management;
• Perform Legal Analysis Workflow System (LAWS), Sentinel and PACER searches;
• Develop, draft and edit reports, briefs, correspondence, proposals and other documents;
• Proofread, merge document versions, and other document editing before submitting them for final review;
• Pull, track, and re-file documents in the designated database or paper filing system identified by existing SOP;
• Prepare files for hearings and trials; assemble notebooks; pull file copies of documents, tab binders, number, bind, label, re-file documents and shelving; pack boxes and prepare them for shipment;
• Retrieve case materials; complete log sheets.Skill Level Personnel shall meet ALL qualifications at their level, and ALL Personnel shall possess ALL of the following qualificationsSenior
• Five or more years of legal/clerical experience in a law firm or court of justice
• Active Top Secret Clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
• Ability to use independent decision-making, good judgment and discretion in handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Adaptive and flexible work style with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
• Shall have superior organizational skills.
• Shall have excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Shall be efficient and detail oriented.
• Shall be comfortable performing multiple projects in conjunction with day to day activities.
