Open Cities is a growing and dynamic community health center who is seeking passionate, motivated, and patient centered Front Desk staff.
The Front Desk Receptionist/Scheduler position requires being a team player who is mindful and will treat all patients and employees with dignity and respect.
We serve patients from a variety of cultures who come to us as their preferred community clinic, so staff who are culturally competent are essential to our care team.
The Front Desk Receptionist/Scheduler is the first and the last person that the patients see when they come to our clinic.
It is a critically important position and requires an outgoing, friendly and dedicated personality.
Knowledge and skills
Ability to gather information from a patient in a compassionate, efficient and thorough way.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills/both written & verbal and with other staff.
Ability to work with people of diverse background and cultures.
High School Graduate.
Experience in Patient Registration or other equal applicable experience preferred.
Medical terminology, medical billing or related experience preferred.
Computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook required
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
In-person greeting of patients and other clients.
Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments.
Verify insurance and personal profile information with patients in EMR system and update accordingly.
Responsible for taking co-pays, sliding fee payments, etc.
and provide receipts to patients and post in the system daily.
Maintain orderly appearance of reception and front desk areas.
Ensure all patient records are current and updated in a timely manner.
Coordinate translators for patients as needed.
Patient set-up for the Sliding Fee or a payment plan.
Directs patients to a MNSure navigator when applicable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00
– $20.00 per hour
