Description and Duties
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Veolia North
America Red Lion site located in New Castle, Delaware. Red Lion produces Sulfuric Acid and
processes spent Sulfuric Acid. Our organization is highly committed to safety, environmental and
operational excellence.
● Enters data from various sources to maintain and update various databases and
spreadsheets. Ensures data integrity by verifying input and calculations.
● Creates, runs and distributes standard and customized periodic reports, to communicate
follow-up requirements and to summarize reports, etc.
● Maintains organized computer and/or hard copy files for easy identification and retrieval.
● Maintains inventory of departmental office supplies.
● Prepares purchase requests and coordinates with the purchasing department or utilizes a
purchasing card to procure supplies.
● Reconciles and completes monthly purchasing and/or corporate credit card expense reports.
● Assists others at the location as needed.
● May assist with location human resource functions.
● Participates in the monthly financial close to include but not limited to PT accounts, Accruals,
and sharing of financial data with the Accounting and Finance department.
Qualifications
Qualifications
● High school diploma or GED plus additional specialized courses or Associates Degree in a
related field with ability to perform mathematical functions.
● At least three years directly related experience in an administrative capacity.
● At least three years’ experience in accounting, financial management and procurement fields.
● Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills with good vocabulary, good
grammar and the ability to independently compose routine written communications. Good
telephone etiquette.
● Excellent PC skills with thorough knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel /
Access, and other corporate wide software programs. Ability to develop spreadsheets and
modify formats in order to complete assignments and ability to recommend improvements.
● Strong familiarity with Google Workspace Apps.
● Strong knowledge of SAP in the production, shipping, procurement and maintenance
modules.
● Above average organization & communication skills required to interact with multiple internal,
external & executive contacts.
● Must be able to efficiently operate all office equipment.
● Must be able to handle diverse tasks simultaneously and work effectively with interruptions
and consistently meet or exceed production and quality goals. Ability to handle confidential or
sensitive information or issues.
● Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional
or new responsibilities readily.
● This position will be located at a high hazard chemical processing and adjacent to an oil
refining facility and the selected candidate will need to be able to work at this location.
