We are hiring a Systems Operations Engineer to join the Enterprise Services & Portfolio Management Platform Support Team within CTO.

The Systems Operations Engineer will assist in delivering enterprise capabilities that improve overall availability of 130 + applications, ensuring that Wells Fargo products and services we provide are always on.

We are looking for an engineer who enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation impacting change at scale.

You will join an elite team of Systems Operations Engineers driving Technology’s transformation by leveraging Site Reliability Engineering practices, enterprise capabilities and products, launching new platforms, building tools, automating away complex issues, and integrating with the latest technology.

This position will be supporting multiple applications, one of which is the Technology Operations Data Services Hub serves as the Single source of truth for regulatory, risk, leadership and operational reporting for all operational data required to run the business of technology.

It is comprised of multiple components including an operational data store, data warehouse, and a business services layer with real-time APIs for use by applications.

The Hub also supports Enterprise Standard BI tools.

The Hub leverages the Enterprise Metadata Hub for Meta Data and Data Lineage, and the EDA Ab Initio solution for Data Intake.

Key Responsibilities Include: * Provide production support for ETL batch jobs running traditional data warehousing and Hadoop Data Lake environments.* Troubleshoot, and analyze production job failures related to data, network file delivery, and server and application issues independently and provide solutions to recovery.

Participate in root cause analysis and preventative actions to avoid recurring incidents.* Participate in the build out of automation to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions.* Collaborate with ETL development and support team members onsite and offshore, to resolve complex data design issues/provide optimal solutions that meet business requirements and benefits system performance.* Apply technology background in software engineering and systems engineering to ensure the applications on-boarded to SRE are available, have full-stack observability, and always-on by introducing continuous improvement through code and automation, and provide operational insight through analytics.* Assess the availability of critical business flows, identify service level objectives and indicators, and conduct destructive and resiliency testing to reach 99.995% availability for the firm’s critical products and services leading to improved customer experience and customer satisfaction.* Develop original and/or complex code, provide coding guidance/review, and create documentation* Introduce enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation to improve availability in a multi-cloud ecosystem by evolving observability, monitoring, logging, continuous improvement, and standardization/automation of key SRE metrics and IT Service Operations processes.* Evolve continuous inspection capabilities code quality to identify problems before they manifest in production.* Introduce and expand AIOps, and robotic process automation (RPA) to solve complex operational and systemic issues, and to improve availability of products to customers.* Share support responsibilities for critical applications, to identify systemic issues, conduct blameless post mortems, root cause analysis, and introduce strategic solutions in code that solve the problem and eliminate repeat issues.* Be willing to work non-standard business hours on an on-call basis in a 24x7x365 environment.
