CEBS is a centralized operation that is structured to drive clear accountability and ownership and is focused on providing the core capabilities and solutions across the organization with efficiency and scale.CEBS drives a substantial amount of transformation activities and service delivery by focusing on processes, technology, compliance, data as well as partnering with property finance.
This is completed with an end-to-end process and technology mindset across multiple functions/organizations to drive effective and efficient processes.The Vice President, Assistant Controller
– Shared Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the centralized business functions that support the organization including recurring accounting, month-end close activities, complex business transactions, policies and controls.
The VP manages a team of professionals that support or perform services on behalf the Caesars properties and perform certain corporate-level functions, including the following:* General accounting and month-end close management;* Capital assets and construction project accounting;* Lease accounting and real estate management (landlord and tenant);* Accounts Payable;* Collections:* Entertainment and sports agreements accounting;* Caesars Rewards customer loyalty program accounting; and* Technical accounting and accounting policies.This role also pursues organization alignment with values, mission and vision through relationship building, staff development, and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
It is responsible for delivering a best-in-class shared service environment while ensuring key company initiatives are executed in accordance with expectations.DIRECTLY SUPERVISES (PLEASE LIST POSITION TITLES):* Senior Director, General Ledger Accounting & Close* Director, Accounts Payable* Director, Technical & Loyalty Accounting* Senior Manager, Capital Assets* Senior Manager, Leases & CollectionsKEY JOB FUNCTIONS:* Lead an organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.* Communicate strategic objectives within and outside of CEBS to establish a shared vision while providing strong leadership and coaching to the teams responsible for executing that vision.* Create and execute a clear strategy for the CEBS group to ensure achievement of best in class shared services.* Provide leadership in developing well-defined initiatives and ensure teams understand, support, and meet expected performance levels.* Anticipate and ensure the development and maintenance of robust, scalable shared service capabilities (processes, systems, internal controls, policies/procedures, organization, and compliance) to support the Company’s growth.* Oversee and direct the development of financial and metric reporting to assist executive leadership in decision making.* Champion change by identifying opportunities for process improvements and gain consensus/support of those involved.* Ensure departments respond timely and completely to requests from internal auditors, independent auditors, properties, and others, as necessary.* Be familiar with monthly and quarterly financial reports, including SEC filings and applicable disclosures.* Design and implement robust staff training and development.* Ensure the team is fully engaged with a continuous process improvement, customer-focused, and value-added mind set.* Create and maintain an environment that fosters teamwork, open communication, and good employee morale.* Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential errors or misconduct.* Identify opportunities to reduce costs for the organization by expanding the services the center offers.* Maintain governance and reporting as needed.* Manages 3rd part vendors as needed.* Collaborate with the operational teams and transformational group.* Ensure timely and accurate property reporting and analytics according to senior leadership and property needs.* Identify changes in the business and company environment and make subsequent changes to control frameworks, business narratives and flowcharts.* Lead and manage cross functional CEBS teams in implementing significant company initiatives.
And operational changes.* Support complex accounting transactions and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP.* Support external financial and SOX audits, internal audits and third party regulatory audits.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:* 10-15 years of Accounting related experience accounting and reporting experience in a large company corporate environment, large regional accounting firm, or a Big 4 accounting firm serving publicly traded companies* BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent* Prior experience with Oracle or similar ERP system and fixed asset accounting system or subledger* CPA requiredQUALIFICATIONS:* Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) for a large public company* Strong leadership skills* Ability to supervise individuals and develop a strong working team* Organized, with strong analytical skills* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet assigned deadlines as required* Ability to adapt to new circumstances by understanding the changes and supporting management in communicating them in a positive manner* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to lead meetings and communicate with all levels of management* Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business* Develop and maintain excellent relationships with other department leaders, property management, and both internal and external auditors* Confidence and knowledge to understand processes, issues, and possible solution, and be able to communicate the solutions appropriately* Actively participate in special project assignments and team building activities* Must be a team player in a professional environmentWORK ENVIRONMENT: Office & Remote (work from home)
