Role:.

The position of Aladdin Wealth Tech Researcher entails research in the areas of portfolio construction and optimization, quantitative techniques in financial engineering, and data science.

The candidate will work with Research, Product Development and client servicing teams to create robust solutions for large scale portfolio investment problems targeting the Wealth market.

The candidate will work individually, as well as collaboratively, to create new features and enhance existing investment solutions capabilities of the Aladdin Wealth Tech platform.

The duties will also include obtaining and processing public and private data to support research and financial modeling done by the team, use of proprietary code written in Python–among other languages–to create new analyses for each of these areas, and development of new products..

Responsibilities:.

Conduct research in portfolio construction, portfolio optimization and data science.Apply academic and industry research to the creation of new products and enhance existing products.Employ rigorous quantitative methods to analyze client portfolios.

Assist in the creation of supporting material for new and existing products.

Develop and extend risk models, optimization libraries and investment platform for existing and new products using internal BlackRock proprietary software.Support externally-facing portfolio allocation tools..

Skills:.

• 5+ years experience in quantitative finance.
• Strong background in quantitative methods in finance, economics and statistics.
• Strong background in optimization science.
• Understanding of finance and portfolio allocation, utility theory, econometrics, stochastic differential equations, data analysis and behavioral finance.
• Strong programming skills in programming languages like Python and Matlab.
• Experience with Unix scripting languages.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations and technical demonstrations
• Strong technical acumen with curiosity and an ability to get into the weeds
• Experience in collaborating creatively product teams, and technical resources to craft and deliver technology solutions
• Proven ability to build strong internal relationships across product and engineering
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Education:.

The ideal candidate would have an advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering, Additional specialization in finance either through coursework or a graduate degree (such as an MFE, PhD or equivalent) would be a plus..
