Position Description

The Vice President of Retail and Business Banking will provide strategic vision and leadership to the business banking and retail teams by directing the branch network and ensuring the teams meet organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth plans.

Expertise in consumer and business financial products, including mortgages required.

On the Business Banking side of the house, this individual will also be tasked with connecting the businesses we serve in the Central Valley, developing and enhancing those relationships to better serve them and their employees with our financial products.

The ideal candidate will develop a highly effective team of employees and develop each employee to their highest potential through coaching and leadership.

As the Vice President of Retail and Business Banking you will be tasked with establishing an annual business development plan to include local market goals and individual branch goals and you will also create an environment that motivates and inspires your team to extend banking services to the members and businesses that make our communities thrive.

Superior communication and presentation skills are a must.

What requirements are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent

• 10 plus years’ retail and branch experience within a Credit Union

• Symitar experience and expertise beneficial

• Strong knowledge of consumer and small business products

• Presentation and sales skills

• Proven leadership with front line employees

• We believe a significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in this position.

In-depth dialogues, conversations, and explanations of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature with members, direct and indirect reports, outside vendors and executive leadership is a normal part of the day-to-day experience.

Communications can involve motivating, influencing, coaching, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance

• Must demonstrate solid leadership and member service skills, excellent communication, and problem resolution skills.
