Job Description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position drives strong, effective relationships with senior management in the Commercial, R&D, and Service functional areas, as well as the Corporate Controller function.
This is a hands-on position responsible for designing, managing, preparing, and administering the forecast and budgeting process as well as related analysis and presentation.
The VP, FP&A will be accountable for leading and improving the financial planning cycle (annual planning, quarterly updates, and long-range plans) as well as managing the FP&A Department to provide revenue analysis, service support, ad hoc reporting, and various special projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs FP&A responsibilities, including bottom-up data gathering from the Commercial teams and various departments, to lead strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities;
• Partners with department heads to ensure consistency between corporate goals, development timelines, and financial plans;
• Develops standard reporting package for functional leaders;
• Identify and monitor significant business trends and variances, including revenue, product costs and margins, manufacturing variances, operating expenses, headcount, capital, balance sheet, and cash flow items.
• Drive an efficient, effective, and comprehensive process for developing our strategic plans that link to Cutera’s strategic objectives and include driving our tax planning;
• Translate our strategic plans into annual and quarterly financial plans and analyses
• Prepares and distributes monthly and quarterly financial reports with operating results (company-wide and departmental level) and provides quantitative and qualitative analysis of key variance and trends;
• Conducts financial modeling to support tactical and strategic decision-making such as business case development, cost-benefit analysis, and sensitivity analyses;
• Recommends and implements enhancements to the FP&A function and department to provide long-term scalability consistent with growth;
• Manage a team supporting the FP&A function, and ad-hoc system reporting requests;
• Plan and manage the annual investor relations event calendar, including investor conferences and roadshows, the annual shareholder meeting, and quarterly earnings announcements
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Other Requirements:
• Drive compliance with the corporate budget, including coordinating departmental budgetary inputs.
• Ability to provide meaningful and insightful commentary on financial results to management, investors, and other constituents on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Evaluate opportunities from an operations/financial perspective, considering the product technology, patient needs, and market needs.
• Sales operations and compensation planning experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to effectively adopt systematic approaches in order to increase efficiencies and scalability;
• Proactive problem solver, expected to present problems and recommendations simultaneously;
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to affect change;
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Education / Training:
• CPA preferred or MBA with a minimum of 15 years of FP&A experience, with at least 5 years in a management position.
Other Requirements:
