Traffic Control/Field Assistant
Duties: Traffic Control / Laborer

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones.
• Communicate to ensure that automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with or pose a danger to workers.
• Load and unload equipment from the company vehicle. Keep company vehicle clean and orderly.
• Assist our Technician on all aspects of vacuum excavation services.
• Plan for, prepare and organize equipment and supplies for lead techs.
• Assist with required documentation for traffic control and vacuum excavation projects on a tablet.

Pay and Benefits:

• $15.00 – $22.00 per hour

Qualifications:

• Traffic Control / Flagger Experience a plus.
• Utilize and maintain Vacuum Excavation equipment, hand digging tools, jackhammers, post hole diggers and tampers.
• Must have a smartphone with internet access for timekeeping and communication to receive work schedule.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain
• Be able to stand throughout your entire shift, hand and arm movement is required.
• Willing to learn different types of traffic control devices and understand their proper application.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to receive any training required to perform the job at an optimum level.
• Demonstrated team player.
• Very safety and quality conscious.
• Able to travel overnight up to 20% of the time.
• A valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to safely operate company vehicles.

Physical Qualifications:

• Able to lift up to 90 pounds to operate jackhammer up to 20% of the time.
• Able to walk up to 2 miles per day occasionally.
• Able to stand up to 90% of the time.
• Able to stoop, twist, bend and climb ladders upto 50% of the time.
• Have 20-40 vision or better naturally or by using corrective lenses and be able to identify colors.

Able to use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, face shields, safety glasses, goggles, steel-toed work boots, metatarsal guards, gloves, hearing protection, high visibility vests, protective Tyvek suits, flame retardant coveralls and any other PPE that may be required.
