The QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) Tax Accountant is responsible for tax and accounting services functions for various clients as assigned.
The QSR Tax Accountant is an in-office position based in the OP office and can be performed remotely after training is completed, approximately 3
– 6 months after hire date.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Prepare complex individual, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp tax returns.
* Research and propose resolution to tax technical matters.
* Coordinate the scheduling of tax projections and tax return preparation with the accounting services team.
* Review and/or compile monthly financial statements, which include balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and various supplementary schedules as required.
* Reconcile bank statements, prepare adjusting journal entries and post to the general ledger.
* Set up and maintain client’s depreciation schedules, assigning asset lives, recording changes in property and equipment and calculating depreciation and amortization.
* Research general ledger account issues, to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, intercompany transfers, miscellaneous, etc.
* Meet turnaround requirements for financial statement preparation and delivery and for government reports and tax return due dates.
* Organize schedule to meet the requirements of the assignments.
* Occasional same day travel for client meetings and seminars; sometimes out of town meetings or seminars.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
* In-office work during training, due to the interaction necessary between QSR departments and trainer.
Amount of time required will vary based on the individual’s experience and abilities.
* Individuals at this level normally have at least a bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting, or other related business field, or equivalent accounting experience.
* Three to five years tax preparation experience.
* Candidate must have at least begun the process of CPA certification.
* Strong technical knowledge and skills, including proficiency in use of accounting and tax software.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, project and team management skills, and creative problem solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
* CPA licensed.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
