The purpose of this position is to support the financial accounting close activities for the company’s global legal entities, including cash journal entries and reconciliations, accounting for investments, recording of expense accruals and prepaid expenses, journalizing intercompany activity, and completing reconciliations and analytics for areas of responsibility.
In this role, you will be expected to analyze the processes behind all essential duties and responsibilities listed below and to make suggestions on how these activities can be improved or completed more efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Record journal entries and account reconciliations for cash, investments, expense accruals, prepaid expenses, intercompany activity, goodwill, and other general accounting areas, as assigned
Reconcile global cash and investment accounts and investigate/resolve discrepancies, timely
Coordinate and record intercompany settlements with the Treasury department and prepare intercompany eliminations journal entries
Assist with quarterly and annual SEC financial reporting activities including: Perform required tie-outs of 10-K/10-Q/8-K supporting documents
Assist in fulfilling audit requests (internal and external)
Prepare balance sheet analytics for assigned areas of responsibility
Support the month end financial close by maintaining journal entry and reconciliation control logs and related supporting documentation.
Manage the government surveys preparation and reporting process, including coordinating with other departments as deemed necessary
Provide supporting documents as it relates to areas of responsibility to support the annual audit and SOX 404 compliance process
Ensure effective communication between accounting and all internal/external customers.
Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriate.
Interaction:
The incumbent works closely with the accounting/finance team, auditors, vendors, and consultants.
Qualifications:
1+ years of relevant Accounting experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field from accredited College or University
Experience working in a fast paced, publicly traded, corporate environment managing multiple tasks/projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP/SOX and an understanding of internal accounting controls.
Demonstrated high level of accuracy and effective oral and written communication skills.
High proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
