Staff Accountant responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant contributes in the month end process
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Reconciliations
Cash applications
Journal Entries
Post checks
Disburse funds
Follow up on uncashed checks using our daily reports (payoffs, releases, etc.)
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements of the Staff Accountant:
1+ years of relevant accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
System savvy and proficient in Excel
Prior experience in the real estate field, specifically real estate abstracting, or mortgage processing is helpful, but not required
Strong attention to detail is required as all positions involve responsibility for ensuring accuracy on critical real estate and mortgage lending documents.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with extended hours when required (especially at end of month)
Capability to understand and operate successfully within an action-based workflow software system
Must be comfortable interacting with clients tactfully in high-pressure customer service situations.
Proficiency in typing, knowledge of basic computer functions
