This is a Full-time position in Washington, DC posted November 7, 2021.

Staff Accountant
We seek a Staff Accountant to perform accounting duties to include AP/AR, month-end, and other general accounting assistance to the finance team. Staff Accountant will:
 

  • manage all aspects of A/P from receipt of invoices to disbursement of funds;
  • prepare A/P reports for senior management;
  • perform remote deposit of checks, and prepare/enter coded cash receipts into database;
  • respond to payment and billing inquiries from vendors
  • assist with monthly journal entries; and
  • assist with general banking needs.

Additionally, the Staff Accountant will enter the annual budget into the accounting database, and assist with preparations for an annual audit. his is an outstanding opportunity for an entry-level accountant to join one of Washington’s most prominent nonprofit organizations.

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS in accounting or finance, and some relevant work experience. Additional qualifications include excellent attention to detail, superb time management skills, ability to multi-task in a high-volume accounting department, and an appreciation for diversity. Prior experience with accounting software a plus. Must be willing to work in a traditional office environment; telework not permitted. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test and proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (exemption from vaccination requirement will be considered for disability or a sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance).
