We are partnering with a confidential global private investment firm on the Eastside in their search for a Staff Accountant to join their team.

This role will oversee the accounting responsibilities for the main operating entity, and additional investment holding companies, while managing the accounting and reporting for capital expenditures and periodic state and local tax filings.

Ideal candidates will be excited to leverage their accounting skills to identify and implement process improvements while delivering outstanding support and service to the organization’s internal customers.

Initially, this role will also own the Accounts Payable function for the organization while gaining exposure to the team’s accounting policies for long-term success.

This is a rare opportunity for a customer service-oriented professional to make an impact and contribute to a stable, successful organization while reporting into the Controller.

Responsibilities: Perform all accounting activities for certain investment holding companies as well as the company’s main operating entity.

This includes, but is not limited to, recording revenue and expense accruals, reviewing invoices for appropriate GL coding, recording cash receipts, inputting annual budgets, performing monthly/quarterly general ledger closing activities, and preparing related account reconciliations.

Execute all accounting activities related to the company’s capital expenditures, which includes the company’s corporate fixed assets as well as capital expenditures of certain direct real estate investments.

This includes recording the recurring accounting entries, maintaining the separate fixed asset tracking system, and performing periodic account reconciliations.

Prepare and distribute to internal stakeholders financial reporting for the entities under the Staff Accountant’s responsibility, such as variance reporting and capital expenditure budget/actual analyses.

Manage the timely preparation and submission of various periodic state and local tax filings (i.e., B&O taxes, personal property tax filings, use taxes) as well as prepare annual financial reporting packages to the Tax department.

Oversee the primary banking activities under the Finance team’s responsibilities.

Such responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing and posting daily cash activity, performing bank reconciliations, managing our banking compliance requirements through coordination with our primary banking partner, directing periodic changes to accounts (opening/closing accounts, changing account signers), and administering the company’s department credit cards.

Provide Accounts Payable coverage/support as a backup for the primary Accounts Payable specialist when needed Identify opportunities and implement changes to existing processes to increase effectiveness of internal controls or improve efficiency through automation or standardization.

Assist with other projects/assignments as requested Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required 2 years of relevant accounting experience 1 year of full-charge Accounts Payable (AP) experience Working knowledge of GAAP principles Very strong Excel skills; familiarity with Yardi accounting system a plus Detail-oriented and a demonstrated commitment to quality/accuracy Results-oriented, self-starter with a high level of initiative Ability to effectively work independently given the employer’s current remote-work environment (home office space, reliable internet connection, etc.).

Computer hardware necessary for this position will be provided by the employer.
