Staff Accountant

A newly created staff accountant role will join a fast growing dynamic corporate accounting team in a distribution organization.

This role is a hybrid role between accounting and financial analysis.

This uniquely exciting position will have high visibility, reporting directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities: Prepare reports and analyses as required in support of the monthly financial closing process and ongoing financial activities.

Create and maintain monthly database reports for sales, pricing, inventory, including preparing daily reports of sales, margin and key metrics to management.

Maintain current inventory of company credit card terminals, related equipment, and associated merchant accounts; in addition, develop and prepare credit card reconciliations, which includes electronically matching approximately 100,000 transactions per month, and researching non-matching transactions as well as resolving processing issues and disputes.

Create financial models and perform analysis for business leaders and finance management.

Assist management with report optimization initiatives using Excel & SQL tools.

Leverage technology to add controls and eliminate risk from financial processes.

Provide backup for accounting to assist in daily reporting of sales, inventory position, and bank balance reports to senior management.

Requirements: BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics or mathematics, and 1 years experience in finance or accounting and strong internships exposure.

Experience performing analyses involving high volume of data, must be very strong in MS Excel and Access (required), and SQL experience is preferred.

Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills; will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
