Staff Accountant

This is a Full-time position in Phoenix, AZ posted December 17, 2021.

Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo) is a physician managed company focused on transforming the patient care experience and improving the practice of medicine.

We are experts in orthopedic medicine.

Thus, we uniquely manage orthopedic practices and hospital service lines across the country to enhance the healthcare experience for patients and physicians.

HOPCo is the corporate parent of Arizona-based entities, The CORE Institute, Northern Arizona Orthopaedics, The CORE Institute Specialty Hospital, and Michigan-based The CORE Institute.

HOPCo is a vertically integrated musculoskeletal outcomes management company.

HOPCo manages physician practices, hospital service lines, population health and value-based care programs, and musculoskeletal delivery networks.

As HOPCo continues to grow, we are looking for a Staff Accountant.

Please see below for the functions and requirements to be a Staff Accountant with HOPCo.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Bank account balance management
Maintain cashflow forecast
Daily cash reports to executive management team
Positive pay research and resolution
Deposit checks
Responsible for reviewing clinic petty cash and preparing necessary journal entries to reflect accurate amounts
Manage cash courier relationship for clinic collections in Arizona
Month-end journal entries, as needed
Daily bank reconciliations and monthly account reconciliations
Work with the Accounts Payable Department on outstanding checks and escheatment process
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting preferred.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one to two years of experience as a staff accountant preferred.
A combination of equivalent education or experience is acceptable.
REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of GL/accounting and medical office procedures.
Knowledge of excel and accounting software.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
SKILLS
Skill in computer applications and software
Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with internal employees.
Skill in managing multiple projects and assignments.
ABILITIES
Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures.
Ability to prepare documents to support reconciliations and journal entries.
Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and third party vendors.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
Some bending and stretching are required.
Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
