Overview: The Staff Accountant performs various technical accounting functions and analytical reviews for a designated accounting area.
This position also helps the business unit achieve goals, anticipate needs, and resolve problems.
Responsibilities: Support Month end and year end closing processRecord necessary accrualsPrepare and maintain amortization schedulesReview financial statements for accuracy and completeness Explain unusual trends in financial statementsAnalyze balance sheet accounts and prepare reconciliationsAssist with external audit requests and compile dataResponsible for all aspects of tax from reporting, filing, registering, and performing nexus studiesMaintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirementsAssist with forecasting and budgetingRecommend ways to reduce cost or improve processesPerform daily cash flow analysis and ensure cash reconciliations are timely Document workflow and work proceduresProvide accounting support for mergers and acquisitionsMaintain up-to-date accounting guidelines, research guidelines and read professional publicationsOther duties as assigned Qualifications: Research Skills, Analyzing Information, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, Corporate Finance, and Accountability.Economics and Accounting
– Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.Worksheets & Programs Perficient in understanding, creating, & using advanced excel formulas including macros, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, if statements, conditional programs, min/max formulas, etc.Communication Skills

Working Conditions / Education / ExperienceWorking Conditions: Majority will be an inside office environment.Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand or sit and move about the facility.Education and Formal Training:Bachelor’s Degree required, with a concentration in Business, Accounting or Finance; CPA / CMA a plus.Experience:5 yrs.
