The Sr.
Analyst, Business Control & Risk Management is responsible for various activities related to risk management performance.
Works to identify, assess and action various risks throughout the assigned business line by executing defined risk programs.
The Sr.
Analyst is responsible for developing, analyzing, reporting and challenging data.
S/he participates in initiatives and recommends opportunities for improved efficiency, effectiveness and/or risk reduction.
The Sr Analyst will work as a subject matter expert supporting Commercial Banking to ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) related regulations, Office of Foreign Assets related Regulations and the USA PATRIOT Act.
Duties and Responsibilities Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on AML policy and procedures to the business; provides direction and guidance to employees.
Assists in the collection and initial analysis of AML data, reviewing documentation for evidence of successful and efficient performance.
Performs customer due diligence and KYC for Commercial customers.
Analyzes and researches customer relationships using all available resources.
Interacts with various stakeholders within the organization to gather critical information for decision making.
Consults with the business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change to ensure regulatory compliance.
Assists with the planning, execution/gathering documentation and reporting of audits.
Supports management in the day-to-day efforts related to compliance with laws, rules, regulations and related policies.
Acquires and applies a developing knowledge of changes to the regulatory environment to ensure proper compliance with processes and requirements are followed.
Assists in the execution of Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA’s).
Identifies opportunities for improvement that will strengthen the overall control environment.
Assists with the development and documentation of achievable and sustainable action plans to remediate identified control weaknesses.
Learns to translate control deficiencies into action plans.
Contributes to the enhancement of governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.
Makes recommendations to drive improvement efforts and participates in the remediation through action plan coordination and support.
Partners with management to identify applicable key risk indicators and to coordinate root cause analysis, action plan development and implementation of needed updates.
Assist with special projects related to Controls, on an as needed basis.
Reviews current policies and procedures to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Partners with process owners to identify control failures and assesses the impact.
Performs first line of defense data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, utilizing business intelligence tools.
Supports management on the identification and measurement of trends and improvements utilizing best practices.

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of experience in the Banking Industry.
3-5 years of experience in Risk Management.
Experience in and Strong understanding of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations, regulatory expectations and industry leading practices.
Ability to handle diverse workload and tight schedules.
Ability to interpret and analyze data with advanced reasoning and analysis skills.
Ability to lead and drive change.
