Harrisburg area company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Our Senior Accountant will be involved in every facet of the accounting cycle and the business. From posting journal entries to reconciling accounts to producing financial statements to account analysis to budgeting to coordinating with all departments within the Company, this position will also be responsible for maintaining an expert level understanding of the accounting software system. Additionally, our Senior Accountant will participate in developing and implementing best practice policies and procedures and be a leader in continuous improvement.
Primary duties include:
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process
• Ensure accounts are reconciled and analyzed for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare GAAP financial statements
• Assist in preparation of periodic financial reporting and Board packages
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure financial information is accurately reflected in the accounting records and questions/issues are addressed and resolved
• Develop and prepare various financial analysis reports
• Coordinate with independent auditors to complete the annual audit on a timely basis
• Ensure sales and income tax filings are timely and accurately prepared, including coordination with outside tax advisors
• Responsible for daily cash management process
• Develop, document and implement accounting department best practices
• Become a “Super User” for the Company’s accounting software
• Maintain technical skills on a continuous basis
• Protect the Company’s confidential information
• Perform/participate in other duties/projects as assigned

Job Requirements:
• BS/BA in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant. (Will consider in progress)
• 4 plus years of progressively responsible related experience
