Sr Accountant

The Senior Account is responsible for the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. This role identifies and resolves complex accounting transactions and processes and is responsible for the creation and publication of detailed financial and operating metrics. Additionally, this role assists with the annual budgeting process, capital expenditures, and has the responsibility for monthly review of various expenditures as well as accounting projects.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years’ experience with distribution, manufacturing, or related functions, preferably 5-7 years’, as well as strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, as well as the ability to learn company enterprise systems as need, such as Solar Eclipse, Profit21 & Phocas Business Analytics. Advanced Excel skills are needed to shine in this role.

This position is conveniently based at our Denver branch located at 5757 E 42nd Ave, Denver, CO 80216 . This role can also be located at our new branch in Broomfield, Colorado

Essential Job Duties:

· Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations on various balance sheet and income statement accounts.

· Assists in month end close processes for multiple entities and completes monthly bank reconciliations and daily ACH wire transfers; assists in daily cash reconciliations.

· Reviews and analyzes monthly depreciation expenses and fixed asset additions.

· Assists with the annual budgeting and forecasting process by working with finance, operations, and branch management to set realistic, accurate expense budgets.

· Reviews and analyzes all company expenses. Identifies potential expense reductions and works closely with Controller to help realize these savings.

· Manages multi-state monthly Sales and Use Tax returns.

· Process credit applications and requests, review credit reports, and prepare recommendation for Controller.

· Assist in management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

· Assists in bank and corporate audits.
