SR Accountant

System One is currently seeking a Sr. Accountant for an industry-leading manufacturer in the Sylmar, CA area.:

*Assist with General Accounting functions such as financial reporting, fixed assets management, inter-company accounting, and daily expense analysis.
*Assist with month end closing including preparing and posting of journal entries
*Assist in monitoring and managing of day-to-day cost accounting function including Raw material, Work-in-process and Finished goods inventory management
*Review open and close work orders to analyze and correct variances and costing errors in the system.
*Calculate inventory reserves and perform inventory reconciliations to report the final balances to Headquarter
*Work with operations managers and planners to perform work orders weigh count and raw material and finished goods inventory cycle count audit
*Assist in the preparation of the monthly business review and Business Unit Staff meeting packages
*Perform a monthly testing of internal controls to maintain internal controls and to ensure that the location follows internal audit and headquarters policies and procedures.
*Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports as required by corporate headquarter
*Assist controller with monthly forecast, planning and budgeting as needed.
Skills/Knowledge: Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Oracle and ERP, GAAP, IFRS, excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical skills and ability.
Degree/Education: B.S. in Finance, Accounting, or related field. 2+ years of experience required.
