The Specialist is responsible for maintaining accounting records and internal control compliance for assigned areas and/or entities within the Charles Schwab Bank.
This role is also responsible for supporting accounting management in responding to business partner, central planning, auditor and regulator inquiries.

Analyzes general ledger and sub-ledger account activity
Prepares and records monthly and quarterly journal entries
Reconciles balance sheet accounts and prepares related documentation
Performs research to support business partner, auditor and/or regulator inquiries
Assists with special projects
Maintains process documentation
Performs internal control steps to maintain SOX and/or operational compliance
Stays current on firm-mandated training topics
Responds to business partner accounting and reporting needs
Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of shown public or private entity accounting experience.
Public accounting, financial services industry and/or PeopleSoft experience would be a plus.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Required:
Solid understanding of GAAP
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail
Strong ability to efficiently build clear supporting documentation
Excellent ability to articulate views in a clear and concise manner

Education Required:
An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
