Site Financial Controller

This is a Contract position in Auburn Hills, MI posted August 22, 2021.

About The Opportunity
Lead, plan, direct and control the site’s finance and accounting functions to create a solid control environment. Business partner and key member of site management team providing business support and strategic direction. To support the local Director of the site in leading the organization towards achievement of agreed targets. To ensure that accounting principles, governance guidelines, legal requirements and other instructions are implemented and respected for the Site.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage site accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Develop and oversee ways of working for iDash mapping and working hours collection to ensure consistency.
  • Advise internal business partners to ensure they manage expenditures consistent with the aim of satisfying the overall business strategy.
  • Provide Finance input on all key engineering/commercial decisions – pricing, sourcing and capital expenditure
  • Ensure proper internal controls, reporting of financial results, governance compliance and remediation of any identified issues.
  • Ensure that site is GRiP compliant and all financial controlling and accounting activities are actioned properly and on time
  • Analyze and present company reports to local management team for purpose of identifing and monitoring key performance indicators and implement adjustments to maintain target levels
  • Integrated member of the management team
  • Provide financial reporting for departmental operations reviews
  • Provide global support and oversight of ED&D tracking, capitalization / amortization: monthly track/check, ED&D Driveline accounting STD and ED&D transfer price
  • Provide global support and oversight of External Funding (customer and government)
  • Review and implement with VP of Engineering Finance Global Engineering monthly financial reports

Qualifications and Skills:

BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

CMA/CPA or MBA/ MSF preferred

Seven to ten years experience in financial analysis, cost accounting & financial support of Operations.
Good communication & interpersonal skills required.
Deadline & business driven with ability to work independently
Working experience in the accounting environment of a manufacturing organization. Demonstrated career growth including cost accounting and financial analysis.
Significant working experience in internal controls, operational performance analysis, inventory control and ERP systems.

Excellent PC skills including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & Word.

Self motivated.· Must be capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines. ·
Ability to work at detail and macro level.·
Ability to conduct business in the English language.
10-20% Travel
