Robert Half Finance has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a reputable Insurance
– Title company.
In this role, you will be handling financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting.
Candidates should enjoy analytical tasks, challenges, and fast-paced environments.
This Senior Accountant role is located in Chicago, Illinois.

Key responsibilities
– Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
– Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
– Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
– Reconciliation of claims and revenue.
– Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
– Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
– Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
– Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
– Participate in various department-wide initiatives
– Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Job Requirements:
– Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
– Experience with ERP systems
– BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
– Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
– Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
– Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
– 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
– Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
– Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
– Must have excellent time management skills
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
– Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
– Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
