Responsible for managing and supporting project management efforts across the organization; coordinates, monitors and manages projects across multiple disciplines. These projects are typically highly visible initiatives with significant impact on business or product viability and ranging across multiple disciplines, businesses, and/or organizations. Â Provides leadership and works closely with management on critical organizational issues ensuring improved methods and procedures. May assist with coordination of global projects. Communicates activities and processes, defining and directing what needs to be done. Also assists with resource allocation, including budget and personnel.
The Project Manager will manage stakeholder and executive level sponsor expectations, as well as the requirements of external governing and oversight bodies. The incumbent will be responsible for reporting on the health and overall program efforts with sound metrics and analytics. S/he facilitates Steering Group and/or Executive Group level team status meetings and all other communications.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Advises executive management of recommended changes and/or improvements
- Oversee and may contribute to the development of project definition and scope at the project level
- Coordinates resources to resolve complex issues, improve systems/processes and deliver creative solutions
- Develops implementation strategy and outlines costs and benefits of alternatives
- Develops training materials and project management tools (feasibility studies modeling, process flow/diagrams, etc.) for stakeholders and project management team
- Mentors others on effective techniques as required
- Directs others in data gathering, validation and analysis and modeling
- Manages the implementation and communication of any enhancements or changes to products, services or technological resources, including change control (i.e. schedule, scope, business objectives, and budget)
- Manages/leads projects involving multiple stakeholders and drives the formulation of business processes and requirements
- Monitor key milestones and outcomes of responsible projects in the program throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
- Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders
- Evaluates organizational, process and implementation implications against strategy; identifies potential areas for improvement
- Formulates plans in support of business objectives and consistent with the organizations strategic goals
- Develop presentations, dashboards, reports and other team and executive level project communications and documentation
- Accountable for completion of all project deliverables and ensures completion and communication of Risk mitigation plans, critical path and dependencies, Project Recovery and Business Continuity Plans, etc.)
- Document and communicate project changes, health and status to project teams, Business Owners and Executive Sponsors
- Emulate and ensure adherence to Santander Bank project management standards through the consistent application of recognized project and program management processes, ensure discipline and controls are consistently applied to projects from initiation through completion
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 10-12 years of experience; extensive knowledge of project management and advanced leadership skills
- Ability to scope out and develop work plan and resource requirements and estimate costs and risks associated with activities
- Ability to serve as a role model to others on developing a trusted communication style
- Demonstrated ability to build strong trusted relationships and foster collaboration and teamwork
- Excellent project management skills; ability to manage resources, sets scope, time scales, and deliverables, recognizes changing requirements and addresses program / project impact
- Leadership skills; ability to provide constructive criticism, feedback and solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to anticipate reactions and positions of others
- Proficient with Project and Portfolio Management Tools. (SharePoint, Visio, Excel, MS Project, Access, Powerpoint, etc.) Visual Basic and ability to identify opportunity for creating macros and improving efficiency
- Knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools (i.e. Agile, SDLC, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative)
- Â PMP Certification preferred; PgMP Certification preferred
- Knowledge of Commercial Lending Systems, including Leasing, Dealer Floor Plan, Multi Family, preferred
- Knowledge of Originations: Credit Underwriting and Portfolio Management platforms preferred
- Knowledge in managing projects for payment products such as- Wires, ACH, Real Time Payments and other payment types, to include understanding of payment initiation through Online Cash Management platforms, knowledge of back office processing systems, and reporting
- Able to identify risks and manage them, escalating when necessary
- Superior communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization, managing vertically and horizontally
