The Senior Manager of Financial Systems reports to the Director of Financial Systems and plays a strategic and dynamic role in driving the end-to-end quality delivery of applications that have financial and/or SOX impact.
Key responsibilities include collaborating across the organization to achieve business objectives, including supporting enterprise strategy, communicating effectively while working through problems that arise over the life of a project, and providing actionable, value-added insights and recommendations to accounting, finance, supply chain, merchandising, and store operations teams to manage implementation risk and improve the design of financial systems and processes.
The Senior Manager of Financial Systems will build partnerships across the enterprise to promote a strong, risk-intelligent culture at Floor & Decor.
This position will enable innovation and process automation.
This position will also assist in monitoring and proactively identifying system deficiencies and risks while supporting business partners and engaging leaders to facilitate timely and effective mitigation of the identified risks and inefficiencies.
As a key advisor to the business, the Senior Manager of Financial Systems will also focus on defining the success criteria for a project, including thinking through, documenting, and communicating the concrete financial/SOX requirements that must be addressed for a successful project implementation.
Scope of Responsibility Partners with IT and the business to understand the financial impact of new information systems or changes to existing systems; regularly attends financial system change meetings and provides meeting summaries and actionable recommendations to the Controller and Director of Financial Systems Builds strong, collaborative relationships across functions and departments and bridges the gap between technical IT and business stakeholders; positively challenges and questions business partners on information system needs and benefits Facilitates understanding of business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation Acts as a critical liaison between accounting, finance, internal audit, IT, and other departments to improve cross-functional collaboration and problem solving and further drive Floor & Decor’s competitive advantage Promotes a risk-intelligent culture, including facilitating enterprise-wide knowledge of the architecture of our financial systems, the overall impact of changes, and leading practices for managing financial/SOX risks Reviews and drives tests plans to ensure proper risk mitigation and controls for financial system changes Prepares monthly and quarterly reporting and ad hoc analyses for management Proactively assists company internal and external auditors related to areas of responsibility Maintains relevant financial close and reporting documentation and creates new documentation as necessary to ensure compliance with internal controls Answers queries from stores as well as store support center departments Essential Skills Ability to research complex topics, summarize findings, and present recommendations to management Drive process improvements and develop systematic processes Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal customers and partner with other functions to improve processes and create value Skill in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent field of study required 7 years of progressive experience working in a similar function; experience working in a high growth environment is a plus Knowledge of financial systems, including retail inventory management systems, is a strong plus CISA or equivalent certification is a plus Ability to read and write SQL; SQL Certification or work experience equivalent Working Conditions (travel & environment) Sedentary Work

– 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
