Our location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Manager – Investment Recovery & Infrastructure.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This Senior Manager will be responsible globally for the Investment Recovery program (including Capital Efficiency) and the Infrastructure sub-category (Electrical Equipment, Electrical Distribution, Chillers, Utilities, Air Handling, etc.) within the Engineering Services procurement team.
Drives “One Abbott Procurement” vision across divisions globally and influence synergies among divisions.
Works closely with key stakeholders in both Corporate and Division organizations to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.
Nurtures stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that exceed expectations.
Leverages extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO.
Represents Abbott strategically in the industry and community.
Proactively identifies new business opportunities, process improvement, and cost efficiencies.
Provides insight to the business unit(s) on how to best develop and leverage Supplier capabilities for the organization(s).
Primary point of contact for overall category needs.
Responsible for prioritizing demand globally across the category.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing the Investment Recovery program and the Infrastructure sub-category (Electrical equipment, Electrical Distribution, Chillers, Utilities, Air Handling, etc.) which includes roughly over $60MM of spend.
Responsible for managing and promoting the Capital Efficiency Program to ensure its successful implementation and rollout through divisional and site leadership outreach and regular touchpoints.
Understands business requirements and challenges; including priorities, must win battles and key value drivers.
Transforms this understanding into solutions and the category sourcing strategies.
Confirms business objectives, challenges, projects, requirements and expectations and translates into category strategic planning processes and solutions.
Provide the business compelling category and sourcing insights to contribute to business strategies.
Drives Value Creation: Identifies specific cost improvement opportunities and presents them to various divisional leadership for prioritization, resourcing and implementation; aligns with regional teams on the implementation plans and drives execution and adherence to the strategy.
Own and measure cost improvement targets and projects.
Report out to the key business stakeholders as appropriate.
Enable supplier evaluation processes and KPIs definition and monitoring.
Research supply base and industry / marketplace.
Conduct analysis on industry, regional and divisional requirements and suppliers.
Lead the development of benchmarks globally and understand category industry dynamics with other industry peers in order to bring best practices.
Guide stakeholders (internal and external) on how to structure and implement RFQs/RFIs/RFPs to obtain best-in-class supplier capabilities.
Provide support during the vendor screening and vendor selection process Develop and drive fact-based negotiation strategies with high profile vendors within assigned categories Ability to work with various legal and business functions to execute Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work between Abbott and suppliers Recommend process improvements to streamline for efficiencies Communicate issues to leadership while driving for resolution Utilize technology and tools effectively
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING
BA/BS required (BS in Engineering preferred).
MBA is a major plus.
Successful, 7+ year track record within procurement and supply chain management.
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable.
7+ years of Procurement and/or deep Category experience.
Some functional experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable.
Past roles as Civil Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar highly desirable.
Certified Manager of Investment Recovery (CMIR) through The Investment Recovery Association or working on this certification highly preferred.
Ability to develop actionable implementation plans.
Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management.
Extensive knowledge of category technologies and products.
