We are seeking a Senior Manager, Government Accounting and Compliance to join the finance team to support a wide range of government contracting activities related to our vaccine programs.

This role reports to the Director, Government Accounting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists the Director of Government Accounting with company compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), as well as contractual terms and conditions
  • Supports the development and modification of accounting/financial policies, procedures, and practices to ensure the accounting/finance, internal control and cost control activities meet overall business objectives and required regulatory standards
  • Assists in the development and audit support of incurred cost proposals/submissions and calculation of indirect rates
  • Assists with the evaluation of accounting entries for compliance with statute and regulation.

    Interacts with management, analyzes and plans accounting treatments while considering the overall company objectives

  • Considers and proposes recommendations about existing and future accounting practices while understanding associated cost impacts
  • Provides accounting, financial analysis, cost accounting and/or budgeting support for assigned program(s)/project(s)
  • Assists the Director of Government Accounting with supportable company positions for the proper accounting and/or estimating practices in compliance with applicable government regulations
  • Assist with accruals for monthly and annual closings and account reconciliations for government balances as required
  • Assists with the management of non-governmental grants, as well as grant requirements as required

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of progressively complex experience in government contract cost accounting/compliance
  • Experience with FAR, DFARS, and Agency supplements compliance and contract administration required (CPSR expertise preferred)
  • Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry and government cost accounting principles, theories and concepts and a complete and thorough knowledge of cost accounting practices, techniques, and standards
  • Must have ability to research and interpret regulatory compliance matters, including FAR, DFARS and Agency supplements, including Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Must be able to resolve complex management and finance/accounting problems; serve as team lead on projects and/or programs; and be an expert in one or more finance/accounting management areas
  • Must possess strong computer skills
    – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint and automated accounting systems
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate independently in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Excellent organizational skills required
