Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst in the Investments arena.

Responsibilities:
Perform and review transitions according to GAAP
Assist with Monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
Produce timely, accurate, and reliable financial information
Reviews daily operations to ensure proper accounting for Financial Accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP.

Review of journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement analysis, and SEC filing requests, and other reports
Assesses, develops, and implements processes for efficiencies.

Participates in preparation of internal and external audit requests.

Manages departmental regulatory issues and internal controls, with particular focus on SOX 404 controls.

Become a subject matter expert on accounting for investments
Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA designation preferred
Five to seven years of experience with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes: level yield experience a plus or 3+ years' public accounting experience
Knowledge and understanding of fixed income products (variable rate, agencies, commercial mortgage backed securities, municipal bonds)
Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze results for reasonableness
Experience troubleshooting and problem solving and solution focused
Understands banking operations, investment, funding, and interest rate management activities
Knowledge of and experience implementing, maintaining and monitoring SOX 404 controls
Proven experience in assuming leadership, ownership and accountability for work
Strong proficiency in Excel (i.e.

VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables); proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Access
