Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory and Costing

Countrymark Refining and Logistics

This is a Full-time position in Evansville, IN posted November 14, 2021.

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing analytical and business planning support to leadership of all operating departments within the organization.

Analyzes cost trends, inventory turns, product costing, and other profitability metrics.

Work with management and budget holders to ensure there is a full understanding of major costs in the organization.

Seek out opportunities to reduce cost and maximize probability.

Note: ideal candidate can work from our Evansville/Mt.

Vernon office or our Indianapolis office.

If working from our Indianapolis office, candidate must accommodate day travel (approximately 20-25% per month).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

* Responsible for developing and maintaining all cost related areas of the company’s ERP system including, but not limited to maintaining the costing sheet, item standard costs, and developing and deploying use of the cost accounting functionality.

* Owner of all accounting processes related to inventory and cost.

Ensure process integrity for manufacturing intercompany inventory and cost by coordinating with cross functional peers.

* Accounting lead for oversight of all physical inventory transactions for the organization including, but not limited to raw material, crude, finished product, stock room MRO, chemicals and additives, lubes and equipment, garage parts, etc.

* Responsible for all inventory and costing related month end close tasks including, but not limited to analysis of production order costs, closing production orders, revaluing and closing inventory in D365, analysis and preparation of LIFO and Lower of Cost or Market (LCM) Inventory Reserves, etc.

* Review, analyze, and correct any shrink/gain activity throughout the month.

Closely work with Yield Accounting (production control) department to reconcile shrink/gain activity.

* Prepare financial reports for both internal and external distribution.

* Complete gross margin analysis to determine profitability by products, locations, and any other request from management.

Prepare variance analysis versus budget and/or forecast.

* Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company’s financial planning activities including monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and annual strategic long range plan.

Focusing on providing management with up to date cost rates, operating cost data, etc.

* Accounting Lead for development of operating expense budgets.

Support management and budget holders on reviewing historical data and developing future projections and assumptions.

* Support annual financial audit related to inventory and cost function areas.

* Support any benchmarking initiatives by operations or other areas of the organization.

* Work with Strategy team to understand Linear Programming model assumptions and align with our actual cost rates for each unit.

Reconcile operational planning assumptions versus actual financial results.

* Participate in the development, documentation, review, and improvement of policies and procedures, work instructions, and processes.

* Ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested by accounting or organization leadership.

* Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphic packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.

* Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

* Other projects and responsibilities as needed.

Job Qualifications (refers to job, not incumbent):

Education: Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred or relevant experience with a similar degree.

Experience: Minimum: 5+ years of related accounting experience required.

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations: Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant or Master of Business Administration desired.

Other:

* Proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office platform.

* Must effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.

* Highly detail oriented and organized in work.

* Must demonstrate administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the functional area.
